Reconstructive surgery

Strive for perfection in form and function, without accepting compromises or detours!

Modern reconstructive surgery is dominated by microsurgical techniques. These include surgical procedures involving free tissue transfer, all of which are performed under an operating microscope.

If a patient suffers from a tissue and/or functional deficit, this can be restored through the transfer of a tissue block and/or a muscle from another region of the body. The modern microsurgeon/reconstructive surgeon not only aims to restore anatomical integrity but also to achieve a satisfactory aesthetic outcome.

My numerous scientific publications in the field of reconstructive surgery and microsurgery underscore this principle.

I offer the following key areas of expertise in reconstructive surgery

• Treatment of skin tumors and subsequent restoration of intact skin coverage at all body sites
• Breast reconstruction:
using the latissimus dorsi muscle
using abdominal tissue with a muscle cuff
using abdominal tissue without muscle
using abdominal tissue with a pedicled muscle flap
• Breast surgery
• Breast reduction (including “scar‑sparing” techniques)
• Breast reconstruction after tumor surgery – mammary reconstruction
• Microsurgery
• Peripheral nerve surgery and brachial plexus surgery
• Reconstructive surgery of the extremities
• Reconstructive surgery of the face and in facial palsy
• Treatment of chronic osteitis of the long bones
• Pressure ulcer management
