Hand surgery

Hand surgery is the surgery of the gliding tissues

To be truly experienced in this specialty and able to offer the full scope of the field at the highest level, one requires several years of advanced, specialized training.

At the Clinic for Hand Surgery in Bad Neustadt/Saale (Germany), the largest hand surgery department in Central Europe, I had the privilege of gaining these experiences for my patients over the course of more than four years. Building on this expertise, I took on the responsibility of leading the Hand Surgery Outpatient Clinic at Wilhelminenspital in Vienna and was most recently appointed Head of the Department of Reconstructive Surgery in Germany.

At Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, I spent a year conducting research on nerve compression syndromes. This provided me with a broad scientific foundation for the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel (median nerve) and cubital tunnel (ulnar nerve) syndromes.

I offer the following specialties in hand surgery:

• Carpal tunnel syndrome and other peripheral nerve entrapment disorders
• Procedures involving tendon sheaths (A‑pulley, extensor compartments)
• Dupuytren’s contracture
• Thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint osteoarthritis
• Thumb carpometacarpal joint arthroplasty
• Correction of post‑traumatic deformities
• Procedures on flexor and extensor tendons
• Corrections for rheumatic and degenerative conditions
• Wrist surgery, including wrist arthroscopy
• Procedures on the ulna and radius
• Comprehensive management of all hand injuries
• Surgery for congenital hand anomalies
