Burn surgery

At Austria’s only intensive care unit for burn patients, located at the University Clinic of the General Hospital in Vienna, I spent 11 years treating patients with severe burns as part of the Plastic Surgery team and published clinical research on this subject. In addition to acute management using skin grafting, the reconstructive surgery of burn sequelae (scar revisions, function‑improving corrective procedures) represents a particular challenge for the plastic surgeon.

I offer the following key areas of expertise in burn surgery:

Treatment of acute burn injuries and scald injuries
in children and adults age
Scar revisions using artificial skin substitutes
Scar revisions using tissue from adjacent
regions or
tissue transferred by free microsurgical techniques
